The
Whole Truth About "Whole Leaf".
The outer
rind of the leaf has been found to have essentially no
significant nutritional value.
The outer
rind of the leaf (thus the name of products with the rind
included, "whole leaf") is essentially "filler". This raises
the question, "Why pay for what is essentially filler?" Think
of it in terms of an orange juice company putting the orange
rind in their juice, just because it too may have some smaller
amounts of nutrients.
Orange
rind may indeed have some small degree nutrients, but the
inner juice and pulp is better still. Which would you pick,
orange juice as you now know it, or orange juice with the
rind blended in?
Mostly,
"pulverizing" the outer rind with the inner gel is simply
quicker, easier, and much cheaper to make. Slick marketing
even makes you think you should pay more for it. The process
of removing the outer rind may take more time, but you - the
customer - benefit from this extra care and attention to what
is best for you.
Harmful
"Latex"
Also,
there is a yellow latex-like substance just under the outer
rind that can cause a number of trips to the bathroom, needlessly.
If you suffer from IBS or other bowel and digestive disorders,
this can be very painful and possibly harmful.
You must
have a drink that TOTALLY excludes the outer rind and latex
layer just underneath the rind, to give you only the pure,
nutrient-rich gel inside.
The inner
GEL of the leaf is exceptionally nutritious with a legion
of benefits. Drinks and skin care products (including cosmetics)
made from Aloe are best when made from only the inner gel.
